Before adding a routine, look for one you could remove, shorten, delegate, or do less often. Ask what useful result it produces now, who relies on that result, and what would happen if you paused it. A stop list turns prioritisation into a change in behaviour. Otherwise, the new priority simply joins the old ones.
Make room by stopping something
A new priority needs space in the week you actually have.
A small example
A team wants weekly customer interviews. They replace a status meeting whose information already exists in a shared document, and keep a short slot for decisions that need discussion.
Keep in mind
Check hidden dependencies before dropping work. A task that looks pointless to you may be essential to someone downstream.
